Deep Dive
History
In 2007, Sharon Brownfield and Arnie Epstein meet and agreed that a group in Stow was needed to help encourage activity around environmental issues. Working through the town selectman, a working group was formed reporting to Bill Wrigley, the town administrator. Initially the group was focused on completing audits of all the town buildings, starting with the town municipal building. Sustainable Stow has expanded its work on educating individuals to reduce emissions, promote biodiversity, and create a more liveable and sustainable environment in Stow.
Since the formation of the Stow Green Advisory Committee, a formal town committee established by the Select Board in 2021, Sustainable Stow, as a volunteer organization, has been working together with the Green Advisory Committee on town environmental and sustinability initiatives.
